Our History
1978
The Foundation begins providing cancer patients transportation to radiation therapy.
1990
In response to need, the foundation begins providing counseling, financial and pharmaceutical assistance, support services and other non-medical assistance through the Phillips Cancer Support House. Sparks Medical Center (one of the two major area hospitals) becomes a financial supporter.
1994
St Edward Mercy Medical Center (the other major hospital) also becomes a financial supporter. This unification of the two medical centers with the Cancer Support Foundation benefits cancer patients in our service area by increasing referrals and providing needed operational financial assistance.
2000
The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation awards a grant of $2.7 million for the construction of our 22,000 square foot, state-of-the-art support house which serves as a national model for cancer information, education, and support.
